Our studio was established in Royal Oak in 1982 and moved to Rochester Hills' historic Avon Cottage in 1983. Located at 1200 East Avon Road and built in 1928, the studio maintains its architectural significance neatly nestled in a five acre pine grove. You'll find us between Dequindre and John R Roads.
David Roberts Studio is a local, state and national award winner. David Roberts is a member of the prestigious Professional Photographers of America (PPA), past-president of the Detroit Professional Photographers Association and has served as an executive board member for the Professional Photographers of Michigan.
In 2014 the studio was voted #1 Best Senior Portrait Studio and in 2011 & 2012 the studio achieved the title of #1 Best Portrait Studio in Michigan on WDIV's Vote 4 the Best. The Michigan Society of Photographers, the longest established professional association in the country, invited David to join their ranks in 2009. The organization is a select group limited to only 30 members comprised of some of the most creative and successful photographers in Michigan. In 2008 David was awarded the Distinguished Service Award from the Detroit Professional Photographers Association for his work and dedication to the photographic industry.
David attended the Winona School of Photography and has studied under some of the world's premier professional photographers. Keeping his extensive training current benefits you, our client, and provides you with the highest quality photographs available.
David and his wife are among the founding members of the Great Lakes Institute of Photography established in 1995. He has been a Certified Photographer for over 25 years; less than 3% of all imagery professional have earned certification worldwide. The studio employs one of the top photographic re-touchers in the state, along with friendly and very talented associates.
We are lifestyle photography specialists in family, engagement, maternity, newborn, child, high school senior, public relations portrait, corporate event photos, and old photo restoration. Other photographic services are also available.
